A Summer of Change

We have a week under our belts at the new place, and so far so good. We are all in transition mode, trying to adjust to new surroundings, getting back to routines, and creating new ones. There’s new parks, new grocery stores, a new Starbucks, new daily routes. It’s amazing how just moving to the neighboring city can throw you off a bit.

We went from apartment living to a country like farm house, so you can imagine the sensory overload for my almost four year old. From the minute her feet hit the floor in the morning, it’s go time.

Despite the chaos, moving can be such a boost of inspiration. Fresh starts, organization, new personal touches. We’ve spent the past few weeks painting, putting in new carpet and hardwood floors, purging the old, bringing in the new…making it “ours”. Yes, we’ve added Josh to our equation.

I know I’ve left the details of our move out, and I apologize for that. I was trying to prepare my thoughts on how I would present this chapter to all of you. One of my biggest struggles over this past year and a half of blogging, is keeping true to the open and transparent theme I carry out here. There is a fine line between sharing the intimate details of my personal life and protecting my families privacy. As of lately, I tend to hold tightly to things and think them through before I put them out there for the world to see.

I knew the time would come that I would meet the man of my dreams and the steps that go along with that would be taken. How I would press forward with my happiness all while keeping true to Landyn, was something I was going to have to trust my gut on when the time came. This month will have been 6 months of Josh and I dating and I fall in love with him a little more every day. I wake up uncertain how I landed him in our lives. I marvel everyday at his patience, compassion, and love for that little girl of mine. And now, we get him every single day. So lucky.

One of my favorite parts…a vegetable garden.

SO there you have it. We are doing good and exactly where we are supposed to be. The decor is slow going as we combine his stuff and mine and incorporate both our lives into one. We are working out some kinks and adjusting our lives around what it is we want.

Have a great weekend!
